Is the office model outdated? Here are the advantages of working from home

They say that if you do something you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life. While that is true, there are a lot of factors that can contribute to you not loving what it is you do. A lot of that has to do with protocols and formalities that have no benefic attribute. Many people hate their jobs not because they work too hard or the pay is unfair, but because they have to dress a certain way each day and wake up three hours earlier so they can beat traffic. A lot of this can be removed thus increasing the employee productivity tenfold. By working from home, many people have experienced a newfound passion for their jobs and were able to tackle new challenges with refreshed vigor. Those that are interested in what working from home implies can read more here while those that want to know some practical benefits of working from home can keep reading below.
Dress codes
Only suits of a certain color on certain days, tie vs. no tie… there are a lot of things that can bug out an employee that just wants to get their job done. These kinds of inconveniences are usually the ones that split the room into two groups: the ones that don’t like it and the ones that do, or at the very least don’t have a problem with it. That being said, there is no dress code when working from one’s own couch or backyard. Those who choose this career path are free to dress anyway they like before starting their day’s work, with nothing to lose and extra comfort to gain.
Time, schedule and other duties
A usual working environment has people strapped to a chair behind a desk for most of the day, leaving them little to no time to take care of other duties like paying bills or family affairs. By working from home it is a lot easier to keep track of all these things and even complete multiple tasks with less effort. More than that, working from home usually allows for a more relaxed schedule that permits longer breaks or just a different organization like having multiple small breaks instead of just a single big one, so it may give employees an advantage that doesn’t conflict with the company’s interests.

Gas, food and other expenses
A day’s work can get quite expensive if you count in the money for gas, the pizza your ordered mid-day or the various other expenses like water and coffee. This can all be avoided when working from home since you are a few feet away from the kitchen and you don’t need to take the care between rooms if you want to switch your working environment.
